In November 2014, Amazon Web Services (AWS) shared their long-term commitment to achieve 100% renewable energy usage for the global AWS infrastructure footprint. In January 2015, they announced their first partnership, teaming with Pattern Energy to construct and operate Amazon Wind Fowler Ridge in Benton County, Indiana.
With a plan and a partner, they needed the final piece: a new sub-brand. They asked Pattern for help, and in turn, Pattern retained my services as Art Director to guide AWS through this new, momentous endeavor.
I collaborated with Amazon’s in-house team to create the Amazon Wind identity, then took the design to my team at Rich Pageant to build out a functional brand system which included a modifiable logo template for their new facilities, digital and print advertising templates, environmental signage specs for kiosks and facility monument signs, and finally, collaborated with them on their first ever renewable energy-focused corporate video to showcase Amazon Wind Fowler Ridge and their plans for a clean energy future.
